------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is He/She a Canon?: H-NO. (*Heck to the No.)
Nationality: Fire nation
Location: As of now, somewhere within the midst of the earth kingdom.
Alliance: Neutral- He is not sure if he wants to be with the fire yet, or if he wants to be with the refuges/rebels. He is leaning to the Renegades, however had strong feelings about his homeland and is currently searching for the correct and true answer to his life and which path he should take. He refers to himself as a 'Tad-pole within the stream of life, and now, my stream has split into two...'.
Is He/She a Bender?: No
Character's Name:Reita Ishimaru
Gender:Male
Age:23
Height: Around 6 Ft
Appearance: Reita 1
Reita 2
Reita has a rich yellow blond hair that cascades softly in an elegant and beautiful manner, down unto his chin. The bangs are, as stated, at chin length, and as you proceed from the end of his bang strips up, at the roof of his head, under and mixed in with the black hair is an underlying of black hair, adding a unique and delicate mixture and layering into it. In the back it falls to his lower neck, showing that it is a little longer, and stripped, at that. Back at the roof of his head where the layering and black and blond lies, his hair flips off to the left into the hair, and it would be what many call a 'd**e spike'.
Reita has light Grey eyes that seem to reflect other light in a fluorescent manner; under the moonlight it turns a more purplish hue, while as under the sun it is a more bluish hue. His eyes are normally sized with slight slants that show his Fire Nation racial background, however they are only slightly slanted, showing that Reita may of also been white along with Fire Nation. his eyelashes are long, thick, and a dark black, while his eyebrows are a thin black and blond. His skin is of pale complexion, and his lips are slightly purplish along with a slim tan and pinkish shade mixed into them. He has absolutely no facial hair at all, and no body hair except for a certain area.....why, though, is a mystery to Reita.
He is slim and skinny with well built muscle, however it is not body builder leveled or even a 'ripped' level, but a well built level. Reita weighs in at around 167 pounds and stands at about 6 foot. He wears a white jacket that fits very tightly around his body, and it is made of leather. The zipper is black and silver, and under that is a black t-shirt. He wears the black gloves however he has slightly customized it, and made holes at where the knuckles are. He has removed his eye patch and his eye that is featured is now open at all times.
Last but not least, he wears a white cloth over his nose to conceal a scar that he obtained while battling a freelancer whom suspected him of being a renegade within the fire nation.. He always carries his shamisen with him, which is an oriental musical instrument.
History: A man, a women, and a bond woven together by love, a bond so strong, it was completely unbreakable. Hasuro and Miyuki, two lovers who were at a young age, living a dream and fighting against the world to survive. They had married, and had made themselves a home out in the fire nations biggest port. Hasuro and Miyuki had created a solid foundation for there lives, and soon, Miyuki gave birth to a young child. This child's name was Reita Ishimaru, and he was there hope, joy, and their lives.
Reita began his life as a non-fire-bender, his parents where poor for the most part, but they offered Reita all the love they could. He was rarely given anything he wanted, but as a child it never bothered him. Reita knew his parents loved and cared for him, so he didn't need much more. And Ishimaru was not a fire bender, but because of his lack of bending, lessons for the blade were the only thing left, and they were so expensive; Reita had to learn how to use a bow instead. He began training at the age of five, by himself in the woods. It was tough at first, but with time he improved.
He never spent much time with his father, however in the time he had with his mother he learned to read, write, and use the shamisen, an instrument. As he grew older he mastered the blade and his mother was killed by fire nation members whom found that she was a member of the water tribe and had concealed it from her father and everyone else. After her death, Hasuro taught Reita to master the blade, and when they avenged his mother together, they became criminals, however Hasuro had gone insane from losing his love, and when they went low on money, he tried to strike down and turn in Reita for money.
Reita reacted and slew his father, however the murder was very hard for him, so he pledged to never draw a blade and use it to fight or kill again until he knew for sure what path was his, weather he should join the fire nation or help stop them. He wrapped cloth over the blade so no one could draw it, and now he fights with it sheathed so he cannot kill or bloody the battlefield, but knock men out. Surprisingly though, his skill is so superb and amazing, if he did draw his blade again, it is possible that he would be one of the best sword fighters within the world; however, (as to not overpower my character) he fights with the shamisen on his back and does not draw the blade, which greatly reduces his ability to simply being a great warrior.
Inventory:Inventory: Shamisen, as featured in link above in the appearance.
Sheathed Katana; A cloth is wrapped the grip and the sheath where the blade goes into it, to prevent it from being drawn.
Poetry Book; A book he carries and writes down his songs and poems.
Personality:Although good, Reita's actions may show him as an enemy at times. This is because he can be seen as an antihero, and he represents an amorality in both actions and beliefs. Reita is most well compared to a lost and obscured bard who was stuck in the world of hate and tribulation. He was trained to use a sword; and his mother was killed at a young age, as well as his father, changing his heart and reasoning by great lengths. Although his persona gives him a mysterious appearance, and a somewhat kind and gentle one at the same time, Reita does not ever reveal his past to anyone, as he finds it pointless and he believes that the more others know about you, the more weaknesses you exploit. When confronted at first he usually keeps an emotionless face and keeps quiet for most parts, he is not shy and he does speak, he just finds it best to stay quiet.
Reita has an almost bi-polar mind set, however not literally, but in the seance that he has powerful emotions such as rage and sorrow that can change extremely quickly. When Reita gets mad, he gets mad, their isn't a 'working your way to getting mad', it goes from down to up in a few seconds; and when angered he gathers all the hatred, sorrow, and feelings from his past and he focuses it into his enemy, however he keeps a restrain on his body, never making a foolish move. He has a large amount of control over his emotions, which means he may feel them, but he does not allow them to control or affect his actions.
Reita acts upon intelligence and reasoning. He is a very complex person to the eye, an he is indeed one. He never could be a simple person, due to his history that shrouds his allies with mystery and wonder. Although he may act on intelligence and reasoning, he does occasionally make a foolish mistake and lets his anger and sorrow consume him, however this is only occasionally; and he has 'lost the will to cry'. He never breaks down before anyone, simply because he has not the ability. He has cried his share of tears in his past, and believes it is now his time to stay strong, and prevent another person from going through and enduring what he endured. Although he might not cry and he may always obtain his cool when the sorrow and anger does consume him, he tries his boniest to be alone, so others don't see it.
Kindness is not a common show that many believe Reita portrays, in fact they usually see him as the opposite of kind, especially to strangers. While he may be reclusive and sarcastic to strangers, or even friends, Reita will help anyone in true peril, and he comes off with his sarcasm as a joke, or if to enemies, to mock them. If a women was caught in a blazing fire, or if a man was about to die or has been caught in slavery, Reita feels he has no choice but to step in. He will not, however, result to saving a man worthy of his pain and misfortune. If someone killed someone else, or raped someone else and is now suffering, Reita will go as far as killing them himself, seeing to it that they do not deserve his attention, and should suffer in pain. Also, if two are dueling, he believes that he should not interfere.
Sarcasm is a common spark of personality that is lit like and eternal fire within him. He never runs dry of it, and may it be a face to face comment or a mutter under the breath, it is usually always there. He never limits his sarcasm, as in he cares not weather it is fierce and harsh, or simply jokingly, he will say it. This also shows that Reita does not care what other people think about him, and he will state his mind no matter what, let him be tied to a whipping post and tortured, his pride will defeat the pain with ease.
Reita has few things he openly comes out and admits to liking, however he enjoys music, sunflowers, fighting, food, sleeping, and oddly enough, he enjoys the beach, not the ocean, but the beach. Reita is a big time music lover, always adventuring into new music, and always eager to find more types, although 'Shamisen (Melodies)' remains his favorite. Sunflowers are a symbol of peace and calmness to him, and they hold sentimental meaning for him. Although they never represented anything officially in his life, sunflowers were beauty, and calm, and they always seemed to hold what he lacked in himself.
Reita dislikes innocent people dying; as stated and explained above. Overall, he usually hides his emotion and commonly portrays vast wisdom for such a young age, and he has bound himself to a life without drawing a blade until truly Seeing who he is, and understands his own meaning in life to a full extent. As a summary, i would say this about him:
Reita is a sequestrated and distant individual who maintains himself with an overwhelmingly dark yet sophisticated disposition. Aloof and indifferent, rarely 'showing any emotions' other than annoyance or dissatisfaction or an obscured kindness to allies. Usually coming off as cold and cruel to his enemies, thinking nothingness of himself, Reita can pull over an emotionless and cold-hearted cloak which hides most sign of his true feelings, one that is dangerous to cross though sometimes his actions can raise questions about his true motives. His tone and insults are usually only due to his attempt to joke and can be rather condescending at times. Reita always stays calm, and although he truly does not seem to have emotion, he chooses to never even imitate acts of emotion, and he seemingly looks down upon the others whom let their emotions control them and affect the way they act.
Strengths: Reita is a good friend, and once he is your friend, its hard for him to turn his back on you. Of course, its not impossible. Reita is quick to come to reality, and he does not give up easily. He has a certain doggedness that doesn't let him give up.
Weaknesses: He is hard to get to know, thus hard to make a friend.(As states though, once a friend, a good friend)He also has problem working with people he does not know and has never worked with before, and he has a tendency to be a loner in battle.
Sample Role play:
A void of darkness encased the solid great round shaped moon which illuminated the world ever so dimly. The moon, the heart of the water tribe, was the one and single object within the sky; nothing else floated within, no stars shined through, no distant planets. For a newcomer, the site would be a splendid wonder, as they would only focus on the moon, but soon would they come to the brinks of reality, and hold within them the truth of the scene. It drained all hope, it was a vacuum of almost complete nothingness; such a visual is mentally disturbing to most.
Below the great scenery existed a whole city as well, with yellow lights beaming out in all magnitudes, bright and dim. Some of the buildings were almost as tall as the single one that stood in the towns center, while some were only half that size; and although the world was filled with buildings and flaming lights, their was absolutely no one to fill the streets. The only beings whom rested within the streets of the northern water tribe was Reita.
Reita stood atop the large bridge that stretched across a stream in the cities center, at what he called the 'twilight view' of the city, because as twilight you could see a spectacular view of majestic lights seeping through the city at this point; Reita was contemplating his own meaning and reasons to live. Lifting his chin, Reita let his eyes travel from line to line. Before him he held a book with his left hand, and it was perched like it would be in a tree branch; Reita's thumb was placed over the front of the pages, while his pointer finger and middle finder were placed behind the book, as to steady it. His elbow rested upon his other arm, which laid wrapped around from his right flank to his left hip, where his hand rested. His white jacket was zipped up and rested motionless, as their was absolutely no breeze within the northern water tribe.
As his eyes traveled from line to to line, his focus entangled within the book, and within thoughts that questioned his existence, he read:
From Darkness to Light, and from Light to Darkness, a void of empty hope that resonates like an eternal fire blazing within a cup of water. From past to present, and from present to future, we see not the truth that binds all of us together, in a whirlwind Of destiny and fate......
Reita chuckled after reading the poem, seeing his own work as a decent piece that was worthy of being showed. As he passed unto his next piece, it read:
Forks of Life
'Lush blue water that seeps through time, Carrying the fins of insignificance from place to place. What is life to a creature so small and useless? What is meaning to a creature so weak and frail?'
To you, this fish holds no meaning in this world, but to me, it is a Golden Flame that rests at the heart of life. Like this fish, my reason and meaning has been obscured by a dense fog, ripped into two vague streams that both pull at me with a undying rage. The destiny I choose will be permanent and unchaining, and as my blood pulls one way, my heart pulls the other, Leaving me in a desolate despair.
Reita smiled at the complexity of his poem and its reality of life and objects, hopes and feelings that it might inspire or beset into a being. He loved poetry all the more after appreciating something like that, even if it was his own poem and he might be conceding at the moment. What he was thinking was almost unexplainable. After enjoying the poem. As he slowly lowered the book, the shamisen resting over his back and the forever sheathed katana at his waist, soft footsteps crunched over the snow that spread over the city.

HI!! Welcome Reita! I play Katara and I will be reviewing your application. First off let me say WOW!! You have put a great amount of work and effort into developing your character.
There are a few elements that need to be addressed.
1) With every application, I put it through a spell check to see if it needs any work in that particular area and you do have some mispelled words. Also watch for word meanings such as there and their.
2) You also have quite a few run on sentences, where you use a comma or and to continue the sentence.
3) This story has Asian historical references but the actual races, Japanese are not found here. These characters are refered or described by their Nation and the attributes found within. Using the term "slanted eye ' is fine in itself.
3) You have refered in the bio to this character as Aioki and Reita. Is it a nickname or some such thing?
4) A young man who weighs 137 pounds and is six foot tall would be a string bean if that is what you are looking for that is fine but by your description you want him to have some muscle. It would be impossible with a body mass that small.
5) Hmmmm... rap music in Avatar..maybe not yet. You can use another name for that type of music but not the modern term.
6) I have found that playing a character such as this "his attempt to joke and can be rather condescending at times." Can bring out different actions from those about you. Just be carful how you play the antisocial character ...they can be difficult.
I love the poem and the description in your RP!!
Please understand that the reason I point out these elements in your application is in the efforts to help you to grow as a writer and a player.
Can't wait to get you into play!

All right, fixed.
The Aoki problem was a mix up of words, and rap was, well, me being very tired.
The racial description was clearly my own misunderstanding, and has been fixed and I spell checked.
However, if the run-on sentence thing is absolutely necessary, I will change it, but if Its not then I'd prefer I'd not have to. I don't rp like that, I just seem to do that in profiles, honsetly.
