Nationality: Air Nomads
Location: He's currently at the Southern Air Temple
Allegiance: Aang is allied to everyone with a good heart

Appearance: Aang is fairly short at about 5'2". He's also pretty thin, weighing only about 90 lbs. His hair is brown when he grows it out, although he's usually bald. His eyes are grayish brown and his expressions are usually pretty goofy looking. His body is covered in blue tatoos, ending in arrows on his hands, feet, and forehead. Airbenders used to recieve these tatoos once they were considered to be masters of the element. When he doesn't want people to know who he is, he covers up the tatoos. Aang generally wears his old airbender clothes, they include brown pants with yellow pants over them, a red-orange belt, a yellow shirt, and a reddish orange shawl over it. Being an airbender, Aang moves swiftly and very gracefully, somewhat like the wind.

History: Aang was born one hundred years before the start of the series as a young air nomad. He was good friends with Monk Gyatsu throughout his childhood, the two would play Pi sho together and make pies together as well. The young airbender even created his own airbending move, the air scooter. He would create a ball of air and then balance on top of it like a top, this ability is one of the reasons why Aang received his tatoos at such an early age, the youngest age of any airbender.
When Aang was 12 and still living with the Air Nomads, they decided to reveal to him that he was the Avatar in hopes that they could prevent the coming war. Aang didn't know how to feel, he was confused he didn't want to be the Avatar, he just wanted to be a normal kid like everyone else.
When he overheard Monk Gyatsu and another monk talking about sending him away he got scared, so, he ran away. The storm that he encountered almost took his life, he ended up freezing himself and Appa in an iceberg for 100 years...
After all those years he was finally found in the iceberg by Sokka and Katara of the water tribe. Sokka didn't trust Aang at first but once he realized he was just a goofy kid, they became good friends. The second Aang laid eyes on Katara he loved her. He still hasn't told her his feelings but he continues to have a secret crush.
If Aang could change what he did in the past, he would entirely. He wishes he could've been there to help the Air Nomads fight off the Fire Nation. He feels guilty about the whole war and believes it's all his fault because he ran away and wouldn't face his destiny.
Aang has to find a waterbending teacher so his current mission is to fly with Sokka and Katara to the North pole where the waterbenders are.
Personality Aang doesn't like fighting, he was raised by the peaceful Air Nomads who didn't believe in fighting and he continues to honor their beliefs. When other people try to push him to fight he continues to refuse. He doesn't fight back, his strategy (because he was born an airbender) is to avoid and evade all attacks. When in battle he uses airbending to dodge attacks that come near him, and he attempts to knock the enemy off their feet using their own weight against them.
Aang is a fun-loving boy, he's nice, funny and sweet. He's too young to have the responsibilities of the Avatar but he's trying his best anyway, he helps everyone who needs his help, no matter what they've done in the past. He likes Katara and his other best friends and he doesn't really seem to dislike many things other than war and fighting.
Strengths: Aang is the only person alive who can master all four elements. He has to train hard in order to master them all and face the firelord. He seems to favor airbending since it was the first element he mastered. He's quickly becoming more and more skilled in all the elements. Also, when he gets extremely emotional or hurt in combat, his Avatar Spirit activates and he goes into the Avatar State which is his greatest strength, but also his greatest weakness, because if he's killed in the Avatar State he can never be reborn again.
Weaknesses: The Avatar State as seen above is one of Aang's weaknesses. If Katara is ever in danger it really gets to Aang. He wants to protect her because he cherishes her more than anything else. If anyone close to him is in danger he may lose his temper and possibly enter the Avatar State if it's serious enough. Currently, his firebending skill isn't so great either.
Personal Belongings: Aang has a glider that is hand-crafted by the monks.
Roleplaying Sample:
The young airbender woke up early in the morning, the early morning air was crisp and perfect for meditating. He yawned and stretched for a few minutes before jumping three feet into the air, he was ready to go. Aang started running swiftly through the many areas of the western air temple, he excitedly jumped into the air and was bouncing off the pillars one by one as he tried to find a secluded area where no one would bother him. He decided he'd slow down to a walking pace so that he didn't disturb anyone who was still sleeping. The young boy took in a deep breath of fresh air as he continued on, he continued to love the place, even though it was just ruins.
Aang took a turn down one of the dark tunnels that went further into the mountainside than he had expected. He enjoyed looking at the old statues of the airbenders he had once known and loved so long ago. As he passed through the hallway his hand grazed over the dusty old statues. I wish I could've been there.... he thought. I really failed them...
As the tunnel grew darker it became harder for him to see, so Aang used his new firebending abilities to create a small flame in his hand. The light it had created made it easier for him to see where he was going. Aang came to a room that was a lot larger than many of the other rooms in the temple, a small hole in a part of the wall let some light shine through, lighting the room up somewhat. The boy felt this was the perfect place to meditate as he strolled to the area of the room where the light was shining. He sat down gracefully and went into a meditative state for quite a few hours.
