The facilities set up by the general were well secured and monitored. Tricky but Sekar knew what he was doing. He was greeted into the facility by a few men and shown to his quarters. Sekar set up his study were he retreat to in privacy. He was struck with luck when his window had very little security. Smirking the Raven Healer sat Li-Li the co*ckatoo-raven's cage by the window and got out a few scrolls and several books and one small red-leather book that was ages old. Sekar flipped through it. It was book of codes, his father or rather his Grandfather gave it to him when he traveled the Earth Kingdom, it had the glyphs of the Si Wong Desert and it would serve to be the code Sekar would write in private.
He followed the men down to were the subjects would be he would need only two at first.
the first experiment was simply to assess bending next test would them to sample three chi spressing drugs and do bending moves again. And the next test would be the use of acupuncture needles. He will do this for two weeks
Now for his victims

[[OOC: I went a bit long to show time to blend things for my charrie I have her recognizing Kailan. ]]
It was the burn that had Lei taking small shallow breaths. The fire raged in every part of her body as feeling returned to her once frozen muscles due to the drug that the fire bender sent into her blood with a poisoned dart. For hours she listened in forced silence to the moans of her fellow earth benders. The merchant soon felt the wood floor beneath her cheek swaying as the ship set out of port. It didn’t take long for the rocking motion to force the girl onto her knees in sickness much like many of her comrades.
Once she was done wrenching what little that remained in her stomach, the earth bender leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes to focus on pushing the strange sensation away. Day became night and night day, but all below could tell neither for the hold was only lit by torches as the ship continued it’s very focused journey. Every day she would sip the water they gave her but she had to be forced to eat the gruel they gave the prisoners. It was almost a delight for the men to have many of the Earth benders revealing their difficulty with traveling across the rough watery surface.
Lei’s mind was always far busier than her physical body revealed. She’d took note of the ship coming to a halt for some time. The air was far colder than she could ever remember for simply breathing sent small wisps of white with every exhale. Not long after their arrival, the soldiers returned with a small group of men and women dressed in various shades of blue. Though she’d never traveled out of her countries’ borders, the young merchant had heard numerous tales which spoke of the members of the water tribes. 'So it is not just earth benders they seek? Are all who have the talents given to bend to be exterminated? No..why not kill us right away?' she pondered as they threw an unconcious boy into the cell a bit further down.
Their living hell upon the watery waves was blessedly brought to an eventual end as they pulled into yet another port. Each of her brethren, as well as herself, were placed in large iron cased wagons which carried them to a huge stone enclave and into the depths of the earth. Lei’s heart had pounded excitedly as she caught the damp musky scent but was soon disappointed to find herself locked in a slightly larger metal cage.
Again, time slipped slowly by and though it seemed that she’d given up hope like the others, the ebony haired young woman took in every item within the cell, on every soldiers body from the simplest thing as his button filled jacket to his booted feet. Her wounds from her battle with Ignis were slow to heal in the swill and filth about them. Every once in awhile the guards would speak disgustingly at her to try and bait a reaction. Burning with anger on the inside, her face revealed none of her thoughts or feelings but within the lessons of a small girl ran through her mind.
"Lei…Lei…LEI AHN!!” a low baritone voice sighed heavily as Ganzo prodded the small girl away from the pile spiderants carrying their meal back to the tunnels beneath the high mound by the girl’s small nose.
Jerking upright, Lei gave the older man a bright smile. “Do you see them Ganzo?!! Aren’t they neat?!!” The burly man gave a long sigh as he looked down at the pretty little nine year old girl.
“Yes..yes I see. But you need to listen, berry. You must always be prepared for the enemy. Be observant of all and everything around you that might be used as a weapon.”
The little girl brushed a shiny strand of black silk from her puzzled honey eyes and let out a huge dramatic sigh, “But Gonzy, who’s the enemy? I know Mum said the fire nation wants all the land but…we never see them? Are they the enemy and if they are why haven’t we seen any of them before? Maybe they got tired and decided to stay at their own home.”
Gonzo couldn’t keep the corners of his lips from rising slowly. “I know sweetheart but they might come or …others.” He never told her that the others he meant were the Dai Lee. The old warrior would just prepare her for all dangers then…then she would be ready for anything that threatened the small cherub. Somehow the little girl had whittled her way into a heart he’d thought broken beyond repair. “Please, Lei…for me can you..”
“There are three seran bird in the third tree from the left. Their mama has been searching behind that small creek to try and find them food. I can tell how many by counting the little beaks that pop out of the nest. “ Taking a small breath she tilted her head to the ground and smiled. “And dinners ready!!”
The old man’s brows rose at the child’s observation of the birds as his eyes lifted to confirm her statement. Afterward he looked about for Namiko. “I don’t see your..” Just as he’d been about to say mother, the older woman came over the rise. He cut a quick look at Lei who had returned to her musing over crawly creatures. “How did you know your mother was coming little one?”
Lei returned his gaze with a look that said, 'Well Dah?’ “I could feel her footsteps on the ground, course!”
"Dinner you two!” the pretty woman called out while Gonzo lifted his student up from the ground using the fabric at the back of her shirt. “Very good sweet heart. Next time we’ll learn how to use even a pebble as a weapon.”
The happy memories faded as a fire nation soldier unlocked the metal cuffs from her arms and feet. He and his partner then marched her, more like carried for her feet were numb from sitting in such an uncomfortable position for such a long period of time, through numerous hallways and doors until reaching a tall iron door. Once within, they placed her in yet another metal cage, fastened her in chains once more and hastened to stand sharply by either side of the door. Lei’s face remained devoid of expression..even her eyes but she caught notice from the corner of her eye of another prisoner in a cell next to hers. His straggly midnight tresses were covering his eyes as sat chin to chest. Lei had been deep in thought when the door creaked open and a rather scrawny man with long hair and a goatee entered carrying a bag in his hand. It was obvious by the guards reaction that the man was of some standing.
Heavy lidded honey eyes stared strait ahead as if lost to the world but in reality…she waited and began tabulating everything she saw using her peripheral vision. 'What does he want?' she thought her anxiety of the unknown growing and she grasped tightly the metal chains which bound her hands to the cage.

Sekar watched the sad lot of prisoners look at him with muted eyes. Frighten of him some pressed back away from the bars. Sekar paid no attention of him as he began counting heads. He saw a few candiates most of them beaten and untreated. Frowning the doctor setted up his supplies, and then returned back to the cells looking for a subject that doesn't look flu-ridden. He caught a glance at the honey-eye girl.
"Mmm young..." He muttered before turning back down

The violet-eyed boy sat curled up in his dead cold cell. Legs tucked in, shirt over his mouth to try to keep out the must filled scent from his nostrils. Being bored was one of the least of his worries now that he was imprisoned. He couldn't believe fate hate dealt him such a cruel gesture. He was so close to the North, there was even signs of frost and then...he was caught in his tracks, literally. Fire Nation soldiers with odd armor had whisked him away in a swift battle that had knocked him unconscious of his surroundings. The next thing he knew was that he felt the rocking of the ground underneath his aching body. He could discern from the sound that he was aboard a ship.
Now that ship must have taken him to this prison. Perhaps it was a place where only benders were taken as he noticed the guards made careful work about giving out rations of food and water. The chains held to his arms and wrists were beginning to make his skin raw and irritated. The cold metal was chilling to the bone as he sat there curled up the best he could. His eyes occasionally wandered to notice others in the same predicament. One had even gone insane and was simply chuckling to them self constantly. It was a sad sight indeed. His ears perked up when he heard the creak of the hinges of the heavy wooden door open. A new body was being dragged into the cell right next to him. Kailan made no move to even recognize or greet the new prisoner as he heard a low grunt from the figure. He could only guess it was a girl. Another figure caught his eyes as he slowly looked to the corner and found another person strolling the hallway. The dark figure in the gloomy torches muttered something to the girl in the cell next to him. They had just moved her, but what were they planning? Of course he kept the thoughts to his own. He just didn't want anything else to happen to him. It was over for him.

The doctor continued to set up his testing area before going back to check on the prisoners. He noticed the watertribe boy and the girl again he quickly scribble his notes before noticed another girl and wrote her down. Back in the other room adjacent to the main cells were his testing area was. Sekar wrote in code:
Day I: The faclities they gave me are meager but well secured. The specimens Liang has given me are as meager as my lab. They are under fed and underweight. I will try to introduce marrow into their diets by get a few of them at a decent weight. I will start assessing candiates toight. I have three in mind. As a control I will choose one out of those three. She will be given a placebo and I will compare results.
Hopefully the information that I will gain would be like a rare Igni ruby, treasured and protected. Hao will recived the first information after two suns. With this I can hope to find away to bind general Liang. His illegimate daughter and her dam are next. If I mangage to make those my hostages....I will milk him for everything he is worth.
Fat is the pig who dines on the blood and entrails of his enemies. He will be the first to slaughter. The Hill
Sekar closed his book and returned back to the cells he look at the young earth kingdom girl. "Stand up and come to the bars."

Lei shivered as the dampness seeped through her thin soot covered garments. Even though her will remained fervent, fed by the raging anger within, she could not keep her teeth from chattering nor her shaking limbs still. Pain coursed through her shoulder and hip not to mention the pounding in her head from Ignis’attacks. The adrenalin which previously kept her numb was long gone leaving her breathing heavily to keep from moaning aloud.
Instinct seemed to take over as Lei began rocking ever so slowly. The motion, though small, had a calming and somewhat numbing affect. While she shifted back and forth, the earth bender heard the metal door open once more and the strange man walked once more into the small jail. His presence was unnerving and Lei held her breath in the hopes that his beady eyes would pass her over. Unfortunately, fate would mock her yet again as he moved to stand before her gage. In a monotone voice, he ordered her to stand and move to the bars.
Lei wanted desperately to ignore his request…to stay and continue rocking but she knew that if she had any hope of escaping to find Ignis she would have to seem compliant. It took a great deal of concentration to push herself up from the ground and once on her feet she grasped the metal bars tightly to keep from crying out while painful pins and needles burned through her calves. Huffing, she shuffled over to the barred door while the sound of her chains clanking echoed through the room.
The young girl stood before her jailer, chin high …shivering her honey eyes meeting his obsidian pupils.

Sekar quickly scanned her over. She was thin and dirty, and looked wounded, this trouble Sekar. However as he turned to write things down in his other notebook, added her to his candiate list, she was young and probably will endure the testing better. He open the door with the keys one of the gaurds gave him and pulled her out of the cell. "Come with me..." He took her out of the dark damp cell and into another one right next to the the labs opening the door he pushed her in.
"Now I have better access to you. First lets get some rules down." He said locking in the cell. Which was bit bigger and a small window over the pile of hay used at a bed. "You will be refered as Yi, you will not use your given name at all. I will be refered as sir or "Doctor" you will not be using my given name either. You will do as I say and quickly, disobediance will be corrected." Sekar also had his bag with him as he walked into the cell and started to examine her. Logging it mentally he left her and locked her in the new cell.
Back in his lab he scribbled everything down and began making poutices of ginger and aloe as well as getting clean bandages for the First Canidate. Getting back to Lei he saw a gaurd who was coming down the steps. "Is this auth-" "Yes " Sekar said cutting him off and going to the First Canidate's cell. "This will sting a bit but it will help you heal. " said cleaning her shoulder and abrastions. Sekar instructed the gaurd through the cell. "Give her a meal of marrow pudding and rice make sure she drinks good water." The gaurd blinked. "Umm Doctor Praa-" Sekar temper flared as the gaurd balked. "Get up stairs before you join my subjects!" The gaurd quickly turned around and left.
Sekar finished treating Lei and then left her. "If you need help do not hesiate to shout my name. If I am working in the lab bang the wall if you need too. But don't interupted me for anything that isn't dire understood?" With that Sekar walked back to the main cells and saw the boy that was near the First Candiate.
"You. Stand. You're next."

The boy kept silent as he watched the man before him inspect each person in their respective cells. In particular, the man had looked at him and the girl besides him. "Please not me...please not me..." He whispered to himself so low that he was the only one that could hear it. He let out a deep sigh of relief as the girl besides his cell was taken into another room. His shoulders drooped as he still had himself curled up, not wanting to move for fear or the cuffs and chains rubbing against his raw and untreated skin. It was horrible, he just realized how hungry he was as well. Kailan couldn't remember the last time he was fed, it had to have been a while. Losing sense of time was something that unnerved him at best.
A few moments later the man who had take the girl besides him came back out. His heart skipped a beat as he came closer to his cell and the dreaded words were uttered. The orders were cold...harsh. They sent chills up his spine. As much as he didn't want to move, he felt some force inside him compel him to rise even through the pain. He stood at the front of the cell with dull eyes not wanting to meet that of the man before him. He simply hung his head waiting for what would come next.

Stepping to the cell, Sekar did a quick examination of the man. Again he was underweight and looked deplorable. Sighing he wrote in his note book that marrow pudding and plenty of rice would help beef him up as well as fresh water. Charting it down and he took the young man by the wrist and lead him out and too him to the cell were the other Candiate was. He opened the cell and lead him in. "Rules are simple you would be refered as Er, do not tell me your name, do not use mine. You will refer to me as Doctor or sir. The less I am attached to you the better, is that clear?" He locked the door and told one of the gaurds of the diets he prescribed. He walked back into the lab and wrote down his notes.
He return to do the same by fetching three other indivulals from the cells and put them with his first two candidates. Repeating the rules.

Lei was exceedingly apprehensive as the metal lock clicked and the door swung open. She cut a look to the boy in the cell next to hers as the peculiar looking man grabbed her right arm and began dragging her toward an unknown entranceway. As the door opened, she found herself pulled into a smaller area where a long cage took up most of the southern wall. The earth bender’s chains clanked as he pushed her into the larger cell which, unlike her previous cage, contained a pile of hay and small window. While her attention had been caught by the first rays of light that she’d seen for nearly three days, she heard the door lock behind her.
Her tawny eyes instantly shifted to focus on her new warden. She listened intently as he outlined quite clearly his rules while she was under his supervision. Lei inhaled sharply at his directive that she would renamed and her given name forgotten . Her head jerked upward when he called himself a doctor. ‘Doctor? ..’ she pondered. ‘Why was I brought here? Was it because of my injuries..or something …more?’
Once he was finished, he opened the metal barred door and with his bag in hand, swept into the cell.
Her body shied away form his hands at first in fear that they would wield pain but instead he simply ran them across her body and watched her face. He then quietly rose to his feet and walked out of the cell. A few minutes later, he reentered and knelt down next to her. Lei had jerked back when he slipped her jacket down to place a cool piece of cloth that smelt somewhat familiar upon her shoulder. Remaining as still as possible, she listened as the ’doctor’ ordered the guard to give her marrow pudding and fresh water.
The ebony haired woman was confused by what was taking place and she struggled to find some reason for her present circumstances. 'Am I being prepared to sell somewhere?’ she thought swallowing hard her eyes darting around the room seeking anything which might give light to her fears.
Lei nodded in understanding to his final rule on contacting him. She shuffled over to the piled grass and laid down. The battle in Gaoling, the loss of her friends...the sickness on the ship and her injuries all took their toll . Lifting her right hand upward, the earth bender’s fingers touched the warming rays of the sun before falling to her side shortly after. Unable to fight the fatigue any longer, her lashes flickered to eventually lay still upon her soot covered cheeks.
She’d barely been asleep for ten minutes when the creaking metal door opened and the strange boy from the other cell walked in. Lei remained silent but she peeked through her seemingly closed lashes to watch as the doctor checked the dark haired boy over and ‘reanamed’ him Er. ‘What is he going to do with with us?’ she debated as the doctor spoke to the guards and then left the room once more. The pattern was repeated three more times and still she played possum..waiting for the guards to leave them alone.
When the doorway had been silent for quite some time, Lei pressed her hand to the cold metal floor and with a small groan, pressed herself upward. Her honey eyes looked over at the dark haired boy and she asked in a soft voice. "Do you know why we've been brought here?''

Kailan's mind raced as he was 'inspected' and soon taken to another room of the grungy and dirty prison. His heart thumped hard against his chest as he was escorted to a new room devoid of many of the other prisoners. Was this an execution room perhaps? He was soon instructed on something he didn't expect. The man before him gave him a new name...rules...and above all else a cell mate. He was forced into the new cell and quickly took to a corner of it and huddled himself as he had before. His eyes looked through the locks of his dark hair every now and then at the stranger who seemed to be resting.
The voice was groggy slightly, however full of worry. He had no clue why she was asking him. He chose not to respond to the girl as he huddled his legs closer to his body for warmth. "Don't ask questions...it only leads to something worse." He muttered before resting his head back underneath his arms. He didn't want to talk to anyone. It wasn't his fault...it couldn't have been. He was so careful the entire time to slip up and get captured yet here he was in a prison cell waiting for the inevitable.

Sekar watched as the gaurds brough meals to the two canidates as Sekar again brough more indivuals into the cell. All told the same thing. Do not use his name and you must not use yours. Sekar noted that the older folk seemed heathlier and would not need the extra food like the children.
Sekar returned to the lab to retrieve his note book and began writing down notes. Returning he started count out his canidates. "Healthy ones please stand"

Lei was roused from her stormy thoughts as the door creaked open and two guards entered with steaming bowls. She watched as the first man held the bowl out to the young man who’d just expressed his desire to remain silent and not draw attention his way. “Thank you.” she murmured to the guard as he handed her the warm wooden bowl. ‘Smart, they knew better than to hand me a clay bowl..’ she thought while the guard snarled back at her, “Don’t’ thank me …I wouldn’t give you dirt. It was Doctor Prag.. ” the man stopped and looked guitily back at the man whom he had just referred. Once they’d quickly eaten, the guards took the bowls back out of the cell.
Her honey eyes instantly locked onto the doctor as he asked for the healthy ones within the cell to stand. It was obvious by his request that he wanted healthy people to do something. Lei saw some value in taking up his 'offer' for it revealed itself as a possible means for gaining freedom. Quickly pushing herself up from the straw bed, she walked over to the bars. "I’m healthy…thanks to your care of my wounds, Doctor.” she said soflty her mind racing as she met his golden gaze. Not wanting to cause his ire or irritation, she asked in a respectful tone, ”Why have we been separated from the other prisoners and brought here? What is it you want us to…do for you?”
