Perched atop a roof in Kyoshi, Jeiren gazed deeply at the black-blue sky, into the beautifully bright face of the moon. Just looking at it brought back the vision of his mother. Opening his flask, he bent some of the water out and high into the air, making it seemingly glow under the dim-lit night sky. In a smooth motion, the liquid began to encircle the moon. It's been three years since he left his parents to follow the call of the Moon and Ocean. Three years it's been since he landed on Kyoshi Island. 'What do I do now?'
Narrowing his sapphire eyes, Jeiren became a little cautious of his surroundings. He felt as if something, or someone, was stalking him... An eerie feeling sent chills down his spine and made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. There was a slight breeze rising up from behind, but somehow Jeiren didn't think that it was a natural wind. Standing up and turning around he was hit with what seemed like a hammer of wind, knocking him off the roof and into the air.
Now drifting in the vacuum, he felt like he was flying, clothes filled with air and his snow white hair dancing on the wind. He glanced up to catch a glimpse of an incredible predator, his stalker. "I didn't think a bird could get that big..." Then it just dawned him. He was still falling. There was no way he could catch himself now. He hit the ground with a loud thud, nearly knocking the wind out of his chest. The giant beast made another pass slicing through the trees surrounding the village.

There was a slight breeze in the still evening air as Kora leaned out her window. Resting her forearms on the rough wood of the sill she cast a glance to her left, then right, as she investigated the nights shadows. "Odd," the young woman sighed, sure she had heard something just a moment before. Flipping a lock of hair back over her shoulder and turning away from the window, Kora shook her head. She was just being anxious again, having done little besides sit with her mother all day. She had set to coughing and having trouble breathing the previous morning and her condition worried her daughter.
Snapping her head around to again look out Kora was sure she had heard a distinct crash that time. Grabbing a short jacket off the rail as she padded down the stairs and out the side door, carefully sliding it closed behind her, she peered into the inky darkness. Her light fabric flats allowed her to feel every pebble under her feet. Spirits. she thought. "Who's out there..."

"That's gonna leave a mark..." Sitting up, Jeiren sat holding his head trying to pull himself together from the fall. The flutter of wings grew silent as the beast went off into the distance. Jeiren was relieved for now, but he knew it would be back. "That thing needs to be grounded... but first thing's first, I have to warn the village."
Out of the black void came a lovely voice... "Who's out there..." It sounded like the person was coming this way. With a moment to think, Jeiren was deciding to remain to be undetected by the village residents or laying back down to let his brain stop rattling. This was as good an opportunity as any to warn them about the incoming danger.
"Sorry to be such a disturbance, but could you give me a hand?"

Thin lips turning down in a subtle frown as she raised an eyebrow in question. "What are you talking about?" she asked the voice, which sounded male, that remained hidden from her view. Just then a line of trees tumbled down like dominos in the distance and Kora looked up to catch a quick glimpse of the spirit. Her blue eyes widened in disbeliefe before falling back to Earth. Hands grasping in vain for her water pouch (she knew she should keep it handy!) Kora's hands tensed at her side. "And who are you to be crashing through our peaceful island?" Eyes narrowed and legs ready to bolt at the slightest provocation, Kora waited for a response.
She had to be dreaming; yes, that was it. Not enough fresh air had given her mind free reign over her thoughts and was adding the excitement she thought she wanted . Perfect. The bending moves the warriors used flashed by in her mind's eye as she wondered if an attack was soon in coming. Was this some sort of Fire Nation trick? Kyoshi Island had not seen any aspect of the war in the last one hundred years, as all the inhabitants were aware and proud of. Was all that about to change? Taking a tentative step forward Kora called out again, "Come out!"

Still a bit dazed and now a little worried about the aggression in the person's voice, Jeiren had no other choice but to lay there. The pain now setting in, his body was beginning to go numb as he laid motionless in his crater.
"I guess I should've made my presence known years ago. And I wouldn't exactly call this place peaceful with that royal pain causing trouble..."
He could finally see straight, looking up only to be engulfed by the radiance of the gorgeous moon again. "Come out!" The aggressive voice seemed to be adamant on him revealing his identity. In a desperate attempt to stand, he managed to get to his feet and stumble into the light. With an innocent smile... "Hi there..."
Venturing even further into the open, he found his company to be a girl. 'It must have been her rooftop I was sitting on.' He noticed the pouch she had and her battle-ready stance. Trying to put her at ease... "Sorry about 'dropping' in like this. I'm usually not one to cause trouble..."
