Zhan strolled through Gaoling, taking in the sunlight, he had ignored a shot of fire that had launched into the air moments ago, shrugging it off as if it was his mind playing with him.
Although the deeper into Gaoling he traveled, the more shouting echoed through the streets, there was a fight somewhere and he was pretty sure that he'd walk straight into it, knowing his luck.
The noise grew louder and closer, Zhan's curiosity playing with him like a cat, he placed a hand on the sheath of his sword, ready for a fight. He casually walked out into the next street and was shocked by the icy shards that whizzed past his face. Turning his attention to the source, he spotted a young girl in blue and a young man wielding two swords and a group of what seemed to be fisherman in the back ground, huddled around someone.
Slowly Zhan walked forward, towards the pair of youth about to engage in battle again, he removed his hand from his sword as he strolled over...

"Katara!" he called out when he finally saw his friend come into focus. But before he could say anything else, he felt a huge surge of pain in his face and he fell backwards. Before he knew it, Zuko was there and the airbender couldn't move, he was all tied up. He struggled to break free from the prince, squirming each way that he could think of.
“LET HIM GO!! NOW!!”
"Yeah, let me go!" he yelled at the prince and his soldiers, his head still pounding from the pain. Aang wondered where everyone else - who had so casually taken rides on Appa - was. "Let go of me you jerks," he tried even harder to slip the ropes off. He didn't want Katara to fight Zuko. He didn't want anyone to get hurt. There were too many soldiers for his friend to take on all alone. The boy wanted to help but... there were too many Fire Nation hands holding him in place.
His hands may have been bound together but he still had one move left. Aang took a deep breath of air in until it filled his lungs, then he blew a gust of wind out from his mouth into Zuko's direction. He didn't know if it would be effective, but it could possibly give the waterbender an advantage, if only for a moment.

He smiled at him, What he might've saw was him being stabbed, he twitched his fingers, the end of the staff became blunt like water, And he feinted pain,
"Arh.." He faked
He then watched a hand o fire approach his chest, He slammed into the ground, And then the figure stormed off, He wasn't hurt, The only part that hurt was his ass, He looked back at him, Before laying his head down onto the grass, h sat there, lying facing the sky, Until he felt his energy replenish to about half, He stood up nd run of into the village, grabbing along a hefty amount of water as he moved, He jump up onto the roof looking about from roof to roof until he came upon what he was looking for
"Wow?, Better already...Zuko?, Because i' ready to go again" he said, letting the water wrap around his arms and legs, once the water had been used up, He was at least 15 plus feet in the air, Like a small titan, he grabbed p more and more water around him, looking back at the gardens near him, He winced, before taking the water out of the plants, gaining an extra amount, He was up in the 'titan' head, Where his body was
"I Will repeat this only once...Let Aang go" he said calmly, but had the tone of a freshly new sword, he looked down at some of the soldiers backing away from the airbender, and more threateningly, him, he md a part of the titan arm into shards, and he rinned a fake evil smile at zuko
"Remeber this?" He said, before makin a shard storm throttle down on the men and some towards zuko, He directed the othe ones away fom Aanh sokka and katara, he then looked at some of the otheruards layin down on th floor, others avin a shard or two in their arms, and others un-harmed
"Katara, bend away at Aangs rope with waterbending, and get everyone back onto appa, i'l handle everything else..." he said witha hint of overcondfidence

The old, yet high spirited Iroh had been following Prince Zuko on his journey to find the Avatar and redeem his forsaken name to the Fire Nation. Zuko traveled the path of the Exiled prince which brought him much pain on the outside as it did on the inside. His heart was probably being wrenched in every single which way each day as he continued on his quest to hunt down the Avatar. With a cup of tea in hand, Iroh came strolling down the street past a few stationed Fire Nation soldiers who had taken the liberty of trying to fence off the perimeter as best they could. Smiling, Iroh knew that it wouldn't be enough to keep in their intended target at all, however the young and rash prince could try as he may.
His golden eyes caught the retreating and what seemed to be quite exhausted Zuko. He was currently engaged in a battle which was something he came to accept by now. Taking another sip of his warm tea, Iroh continued to watch the events unfold before him. Zuko would have to figure out his own path for himself. So far...he was certainly choosing one of them. "Prince Zuko!" The slightly gruff voice called out from his position. "I suggest that you withdraw at once. You are in no shape to continue this." Advice it was, however he knew the exiled Prince too well to just give up when his objective was right in front of him. The more he pushed himself, the more he may become too injured to do anything next time.

As Zhan walked over to the conflict at hand he heard an old familiar voice yell out the name of Prince Zuko, it was only then that he linked the young swordsman with the identity of that of the banished prince of the Fire nation.
He walked past and gazed upon Zuko's face, the scar of his banishment confirming his identity to him, the memories of serving Ozai briefly flashing through his mind, he turned away and focused on the "fisherman" and what seemed to be a large watery titan.
The fisherman backed off from what they had circled, allowing Zhan to see a young boy tied up. He casually walked over and shoved away the disguised fire benders, the were to distracted to worry about him.
As he reached the bound up boy he looked to the watery beast, barely noticing the icicles plummeting towards him. As quick as he could he launched a stream of fire at the icy shards to protect himself and the boy. When he felt safe he turned and drew his sword, slashing down on the ropes that bound the boy, sheathing his sword away he noticed the pale blue arrow upon the head of who he realized was the Avatar...

Wide azure eyes shifted from Aang who was now tied and surrounded by a group of disguised fire nation soldiers to the infamous banished prince. “Zuko..” she breathed, the bitterness and anger of her tone at his suggestion could not be mistaken. Katara swallowed hard as the bender moved forward with not one sword but two. “ I won’t leave him…” she stated firmly but inside the novice was warring a separate battle. ‘How can I help Aang? I’m not good enough at water bending to take him on...’
She’d been focused on the streams of water sweeping about her body in preparation for the boy’s attack when a large gust of wind ‘shoved’ at her attacker who’s swords were moving steadily closer. Katara saw Ken rushing forward through the numerous voices calling out in her direction but she was far too focused on her present predicament to give him her attention. Freeing Aang right now was her only focus.
Just when Katara was about to send a blades of ice to cut Aang’s bindings, the open area seemed to burst with new arrivals. Instantly wary, she spun back and forth waiting for them to attack as well. The brunette instantly recognized the old man and her lips rose just the slightest at hearing the advice he imparted to his hot headed nephew.
“He’s right ya know. You don’t look so good right now Zuko. Maybe it’s best we finish this another time when you’re feeling a bit better and…half the Earth Nation townsfolk aren’t rushing in to check out the ’fireworks’” The teenage girl tilted her chin up in false bravado while her heart pounded furiously in her ears.
While the two were engaged, another young man shoved the fake fisherman out of the way and sent steam soaring upward. ‘Another fire bender! ‘ The teenage girl thought and at seeing him pull his sword free screamed in panic, ”NO!! AANG!!” She lifted her hand to send a gush of water at the man but hastily halted when she saw him use the blade to cut through the Avatar’s bindings. 'Was he taking Aang away?' she fretted while forming a small ball of water much like her air bending friend had done on numerous occasions. "RUN AANG!! Use your bending and get out of here!!" With that said, the ball began to turn to ice as it sailed directly at Zuko's head.

Ignis was still using his jet propulsion to make his way through the forest. He would occasionaly have to stop though to rest for a few seconds. Ignis jumped over log and obstacle, turning skillfully. Behind this massive jet of fire, was left, burning trees and land, with the ashes of flowers that once stood.
Fire began to spread slowly. Ignis stopped by a lake needing some time to rest and drink. Ignis rushed to the water and took a gulp of water, with his hands. Ignis then noticed a black, steel, fire nation steam ship. It was a small ship that was usually deployed from larger ships. Ignis immediatly knew it belonged to the banished prince and his soldiers. Ignis saw three men on it. Ignis advanced towards the Skiff, a needle like item in his hand, which was filled with a green liquid. Ignis quickly leapt onto the skiff but before any firebending could be used against him. He quickly injected the crew one by one.
The chi-blocking injection would neatrulise them for about 7 hours, enough time to capture The Avatar and use the skiff to get home. Ignis searched the skiff and found ten barrels of blasting jelly and a load of explosives. He also found a small catapult. Ignis searched and also found some gas explosives and a box of gas masks. Ignis fitted some gas masks onto the three paralysed men, not wanting them to die as they were fire nation. Ignis then put one on himsef. Ignis then loaded the catapult with explosives and shot several at Gaoling, in the distance.
They exploded on the buildings, destroying many or leaving it to rubble. People panicked as more explosions occured. Then Earth Kingdom troops arrived in the city and began battling Zuko's men, causing fire and earth to fly around, just creating more panic. "There's nothing like introducing some good old, Anarchy..." Ignis said watching smoke and cinders from the city. Ignis then tied the gas explosives to him and released them all. As he moved more gas was spread. Ignis left his gear on the boat. Ignis then placed the blasting jelly around the forest. They would soon detonate as the fire would reach them.
Ignis then used his jet propulsion to fly through the forest. As he did, more gas was spread. The forest was soon devolped by thick, yellow clouds of poisonus gas. The gas would search out people who entered and envolp them. The gas would hopefully drive the Avatar's bison out of hiding. Now the avatar couldn't escape into the forest, as it was poisonus and sight was almost impossible. Then Ignis arrived out of the massive clouds of yellow gas and leapt on top of a building. Ignis took of his gas mask and strapped it onto his back for later.
Ignis then saw the fighting Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation troops. "This is so..boring..." Ignis said. Ignis charged a fire blast before shooting it at the fighting soldiers. All of the soldiers were blasted back and some fell into the river. More explosion rang out from Gaoling. These were from unexploded bombs that Ignis had launched. The gas from the forest was now reaching edge of the forest. The fire in the forest was also spreading. Ignis had spotted the Avatar and was about to strike him down with a fire bolt. "This going to be easy as p-" Ignis said but stopped.
Ignis had spotted Katara. The girl who healed his injuries earlier. Ignis lowered his arm down. "Katara..." Ignis said quietly, wide eyed and hesitant to attack. Then Ignis saw one of Zuko's soldiers running at Katara with a fire blade in his hand. This soldier had the intention of killing on the Gaang, with no doubt. Ignis reacted instantly and charged up a powerful fire bolt. When the guard was two feet away from Katara, fired. The bolt hit the man's sides, leaving them black and scorched. The man screamed as he twirled around in pain before landing in the water. Ignis' presence was now revealed as the fire and flaming cinders from the destruction, lit up his face and body in their crimson and orange magnificence.

Zuko went into a building from the force of Aang's blast. He struggled up to his feet only to be hit by a ball of Ice in the head. Once again he struggled to his feet now bleeding from the head. He looked around. he found it hard to process what he was seeing. A man had just stolen the Avatar from his incompetent soldiers. Ken had appeared and attacked. His Uncle Iroh was sipping tea watching the brawl unsue. Another man had entered and saved Katara from one of his fire benders. Katara was distracted by Aang's new captor... if he was one truly. Zuko snuck up behind Katara and hit her in the back of the head knocking her out cold. His head was throbbing. He spotted his swords and sheathed them picking up Katara. He then left the growing brawl. With out anyone the wiser.
(And please try not to be Mr. Perception because all of you (Minus Ignis) are distracted as of your last post so thats what I'm going by. I ask that you play along for a bit.)

[[OOC: Between Zuko and Katara only. We will soon open it back up.]]
No sooner had the ball of ice been released from her slender fingers when flames reigned down upon the town of Gaoling. The sounds of screaming villagers could be heard all around their small group. The water bender spun back and forth in confusion wondering how to help the innocent people caught up in their battle with the Fire Lord’s only son.
A vibration of air passed by her right ear and she spun to watch in horror as a fire nation soldier was hurled backward by a surge of golden fire. Her azure eyes turned in the direction of the helpful fire bender to widen in shock at finding Ignis’ golden eyes staring back at her. “Wha?” Katara started but her pondering was brought to a halt when her head suddenly snapped forward as she was struck from behind.
The girl blinked a few times in surprise before her fealthery taupe lashes closed and she crumpled onto the ground not far from her previous attacker.

Zuko had run with Katara for about a mile. He laid her down in an alley and leaned against the wall opposite of her. He let his swords clatter to the ground. He slid to the floor. The battle still raged behind him as Many earth kingdom soldiers were appearing and his fire benders were engaging them. Zuko had lost a lot of blood. He was losing it. The alley was spinning. He looked at the girl he had just taken. Probably a month ago she had just been the only water bender left in the southern tribe. Now tied up in a war that the Fire Nation thrust upon the world. He couldn't brush this thought from his mind now like he usually did, not in his weakened state. He thought about all those that had died for Sozin's mad conquest. He was making up in his mind what he should do. He couldn't turn away from it anymore. He couldn't pass it off as a necessary evil if to create a new world. It just wasn't right. His head throbbed he grabbed it.

Ignis was about to say something to Katara but then she was knocked out cold by the banished prince. Ignis was speachless and frozen. Ignis watched in horror as the man carried her away. Ignis called out Katara's name and was about to pursue the man but then a building in their path collapsed from the heat. A large plume of smoke and debris blocked the ground and spread onto other building which then collapsed.
Ignis surveyed the destruction he had caused. Buildings that were either burnt or collapsed, people screaming and running around, the massive plume of yellow gas spreading from the forest and above this all, a blood red sky. In less than an hour, Gaoling had gone from a peaceful community to a battleground. More Earth Soldiers and Firebenders clashed. Other Earthbenders, Millitary and Civvilian alike, opened up tunnels to lead people underground into the Earth Rumble arena for safety.
Ignis watched this and allowed the innocent to flee. Ignis surveyed everyone fighting. Something caught his eye in the distance. More Fire Nation ships were coming down the large lake, which lead into the sea. It was obvious these soldiers had seen the smoke and new their troops were battling. Ignis fired a flame in the air, signifying there were allied firebenders there. The lead ship sent a signal back in response. The ships as they began to slowly reach Gaoling, they fired flaming boulders at Gaoling via catapult. Ignis took flight again and sailed around the city, lowering himself down now and again to search for Zuko and Katara. Ignis then saw an Earth Kingdom flag above the tallest building in Gaoling. Ignis flew up to it and grabbed the flag. Ignis held it up as it slowly burnt, signifying the end of Gaoling.

The first sensation Katara felt as her consciousness returned was the musty earth beneath her cheek. She could hear feet thudding across the ground and the sound of voices calling out to one another but now they seemed a great distance away. "Ahnnn..” she groaned softly while her hands pushed her body upward.
The brunette saw Zuko…well three Zuko’s leaning against the stone wall of a nearby hovel: his hands pressed against either side of his head. Blinking a few times, she breathed a sigh of relief when the three gradually merged into just one of her nemesis. Katara lifted her right hand and touched the tender spot on the back of her head. Giving a small wince, she scanned the area for a way to escape and noticed the twin blades resting in a taunting manner between the two adversaries.
The water bender inched quietly toward the closest sword but froze when the midnight haired boy’s amber eyes lifted to meet hers.
Swallowing hard, she lifted her soot marked chin and her eyes narrowed angrily onto the would be prince. “Aren’t you proud now, PRINCE ZUKO! “ She spat out angrily as her hands clenched in anger. With a wave of her hand, she gentured toward the flames and cries echoing around them. “This is the destiny of your great Fire Nation is it? To leave the other nations destroyed and children motherless.”
Katara’s head jerked at hearing a small child wailing nearby but she breathed a sigh of relief when she saw a woman carrying the wee one hastily away from the main thoroughfare. A small crystalline tear slipped down her cheek as the present blended into the past and a small girl-child raced to find her father…. Her mother….her mother had sent her to find him!! She had to find him…but they’d arrived far to late. No during a battle much as this one her mother’s life had been stolen by that fire nation soldier.
“..just like they took my mother from me…” her voice warbled a bit as she choked the private words past her lips but even as the tears fell she staggered to her feet.

Zuko sunk to a sitting position. Katara had awoken and tried to reach for one of his fallen blades. He didn't care. He could hear screaming people running to the safety of some underground vault as the city began to burn. He saw more Fire Nation ships come to the port of Gaoling. Zuko looked into Katara as he struggled to say that the fire nation took away her mother from her. Zuko layed down his hands and looked her in the eyes.

Rubbing angrily at the small droplets with the heels of her hand, Katara grabbed the slightly curved bladé tight in her right fist. “She didn’t do anything to your people…just loved my father, Sokka and me. I still miss her soft voice singing as she made breakfast .. the smell of her hair when she would hold me in arms and tell me stories of when she was a little girl. I miss her so much…” the saddness soon changed to rage as the boy staring up at her became the man who’d stolen her mother's life.
Even though her father had tried his best to keep the small girl from entering the tent, she’d slid beneath his arm only to find her mother’s glazed eyes staring wide at the tent ceiling. “YOU should pay for all the lives you’ve ruined!! For trying to hurt Aang and my brother..for all the children lost and the mothers you’ve taken from their children..” she hollared huskily, tears still continuing their rapid course down her cheeks to fall along with the ashes of the now devastated town. Lifting the blade high above her head, the girl moved the sharp edge toward Zuko’s head.

Zuko watched Katara pick up a sword. He could of stopped her. He could of at the very least used the last of his energy to take the sword from her. Instead he uttered one sentence.
"The Fire Nation took my mother too..." Zuko let a tear roll down his cheek. He just wasted his only opportunity to escape death by this girls hands only to say one thing.
Zuko thought back to that fateful day. In truth he did not know what his father did to his mother, but he knew that it wasn't good. Zuko looked down not wanting to meet Katara's eyes. His head was throbbing from all these thoughts running uncontrolled in his mind. Uncontrolled without the discipline of a warrior, and now enlightened he was facing his own death.
